Children’s Day, Dia de los Niños, with the Mixteco/ Indigena Community Organizing Project!, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at Harrington Elementary School, 2501 Gisler St., Oxnard, the organization reported recently in a media release.
“The event celebrates children and emphasizes the importance of children’s literacy. At the event, we will distribute books to each child, and teach parents to read aloud with their kids.
“Please consider sponsoring our Día de los Niños celebration. All sponsorship funds will pay for picture book gifts for each Mixteco child who attends. All sponsors who donate $100 or more will have the opportunity to display their organization’s banner and have an information table at our event. You are welcome to join us and advertise for your organization, or send volunteers to help with children’s reading circles or other activities.”
