CAUSE benefiting this year from proceeds of Rebozo Festival

7th annual event returns May 15 to Camarillo

The Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy’s (CAUSE) Centro Mujer program will benefit from this year’s edition of the Rebozo Festival on May 15 in Camarillo.

The festival has grown from a small gathering in the backyard of former Oxnard Mayor Manuel Lopez and his wife, Irma, to the spacious grounds of the historic Adolfo Camarillo Ranch House, featuring food, arts, crafts and information booths, the traditional Rebozo fashion show, musical and dance performances and a live & silent auction.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m.

Funds raised by the festival will be used by CAUSE to provide leadership development opportunities to, primarily, grassroots working families many of whom are recent immigrants, first generation children of immigrants, women and children, Rebozo Festival organizers reported in a media release. Special training emphasis will be on recruiting and training women leaders to take active roles in organizing committees and lead strategic policy change campaigns that would positively impact the lives of thousands of families throughout our county.

Sponsors include the Ventura County Star, Amigos805.com, Tequila Alquimia, Bank of America, Century 21 Homeland Realtors, Rabobank, Oxnard Harvest Co., Driscoll’s and Vida Newspaper.

Tickets are $35, and brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For tickets, call 805.650.3636, 805.340.4634 or visit www.rebozofestival.com
