Black & White & In Between: Contemporary Art from the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation
This exhibition features works by artists who have explored the formal, conceptual, technical, and material possibilities of limiting their palettes to black-and-white and shades “in between.”

WEAVING WORKSHOPS

with Kristyn Shinn

Vice President of the Ventura County Handweavers and Spinners Guild

Wednesdays  6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

ages 15 and up

Workshop fee $30 + materials fee $15 (payable to the instructor)

This is a hands-on beginner level weaving workshop!  Students will learn the fundamentals of weaving, such as warping (or dressing) the loom, learn a variety of woven patterns, and explore color & texture with a variety of materials while  using a frame loom provided (on loan) by the Carnegie Art Museum.

Spend an afternoon exploring, creating and letting your imagination soar.  Drop in for free, hands-on family fun activities with CAM Staff and Lakeshore Learning Store. Families with children of all ages and abilities are welcome. Materials are provided.

BUILDING BLOCKS OF ART
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

ages 7-11

$24 / $19 members per 2 class session or $10 per session

These art exploration classes help kids explore the tools artists use to build works of art from line to    texture and everything in between. In each session, students are introduced to one or two building blocks and a different technique inspired by the current exhibits on display.
