Like most of the City and County, the CAPS Media Center has been closed to the public for the past few months and will continue to be closed for the foreseeable future. However, the COVID crisis has not slowed down CAPS Media from continuing to produce informative programming for the City and County.

CAPS started the holidays early by collaborating with City staff to produce a series of docent hosted “Candlelight Holiday Tours” of the historic Olivas Adobe. The series captures the essence of the popular yuletide experience which, due to COVID restrictions, is not open to the public this year. Undeterred the City Staff and CAPS crews worked with a wonderful ensemble of actors to re-imagine and recreate the magical holiday tour and history of the Olivas Adobe.
CAPS Media Crews remain very active facilitating the weekly live-streaming of Ventura County’s COVID-19 updates, in English and Spanish that are delivered by the County health department and other officials. Following the press conference, CAPS editors add titles and other elements and distribute the vital information for posting at VenturaCountyRecovers. CAPS has also distributed information on testing sites throughout the County and produced numerous videos demonstrating testing and other COVID protocols.
Production for the county continued with CAPS creating a series of videos for the Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) highlighting the hospital’s outstanding residency program, nursing staff employment opportunities and the critical protocols the hospital has in place to keep everyone safe and healthy during these challenging times.
