Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara celebrates last day of Fiesta with Fiesta Car Show

SANTA BARBARA — On Sunday, August 5, the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara celebrated the last day of Fiesta at their annual Fiesta Car Show.

Over 400 car enthusiasts, local car clubs and community members rolled into the Club for a free family event featuring 93 classic and custom cars. Mayor Cathy Murillo and La Presidente de Fiesta, Denise Sanford visited and danced to live music by bands,  Sismo, 5 South, DJ Joey,  DJ Lid and local celebrity singer Pepe Marquez.

Trophies and plaques were awarded to vehicles in 17 categories by the High Rollers Car Club, whose members co-hosted the event.

“There were more cars and people this year than ever before and next year will be even better,” said High Rollers Club President Mike Perez.

Ryan Brackin from Santa Barbara Nissan gave the lead sponsors choice award to John Martinez for his phenomenal 1963 convertible.

Tony Figueroa took the trophy for the best tri-tip with his signature spice, Fig’s Dirty Rub.

All attendees enjoyed the delicious food provided by the all the contestants including; The Moose Lodge of Santa Barbara, Smokin Joe’s BBQ (Joe Padilla) and Vince Zaragosa.

The Club raffled off a car at the event and Montecito Bank & Trust CEO, Janet Garufis purchased a single ticket and won a 2003 BMW convertible.

Hornet Fumigation owner, Erubey Nava won the 50/50 cash raffle and promptly donated all his winnings to the Club.

“We were just overwhelmed by the love and support given today to our club from our community and alumni, this club is truly a magical place” said Executive Director, Laurie Leis.
