VENTURA — Behind the scenes at the Ventura County Clerk-Recorder & Registrar of Voters’ office, it is crunch-time. Conducting the June Primary Election takes months of advance preparation, with everyone and everything in full swing at the 60-day mark of April 8, known as “Election Day-minus-60,” or E-60. This year is even busier than usual as Ventura County gears up for its first “Voters Choice Act” (VCA) Primary Election.
Next on the election checklist for E-60: A second round of informational postcards required by the VCA are being mailed out. The first mandatory mailing of postcards was on March 9 at E-90, the 90-day mark. These postcards are sent out to every registered voter in the County to make sure voters are notified of their options for how, where and when to vote.
For example, under the VCA, every registered voter will be mailed a Vote-By-Mail ballot nearly a month before Election Day, June 7. However, for those who want to utilize the Vote Centers, there will be 11 days of in-person voting. Ventura County is prepared to offer registered voters access to their preferred method of voting.
“We like to explain the VCA by saying ‘More Days, More Ways.’ Voters can enjoy the convenience of mailing in their postage-free Vote-By-Mail ballot or they can drop their ballots in one of 38 official ballot boxes or deliver it to one of the 51 Vote Centers. And, by the way, no matter how they send in their ballot, they’re able to track it by registering at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov,” said Mark Lunn, County Clerk-Recorder, Registrar of Voters.
“Alternatively, for those who want to vote in person, they can visit one of ten Vote Centers that will open beginning May 28, or one of the 41 additional Vote Centers that will open beginning June 4,” Lunn said.

Llevando acabo a la Elección Primaria del junio toma meses de preparación por delante, con todo en alta velocidad en la fecha marcada de 60 días en anticipación de la – el 8 de abril – conocido como “Día de Elección menos 60” o E-60. Este año estamos más ocupados que lo usual siendo que el Condado de Ventura se pone en marcha para su primera Elección Primaria de la “Ley de Elección de Votantes” (VCA).
Lo que sigue en la lista de control para E-60: Una segunda vuelta de tarjetas postales informacionales requeridas por la VCA están por enviar. El primer envío de tarjetas postales obligatorio fue el 9 de marzo en E-90, la marca de 90 días. Estas tarjetas postales están enviadas a cada votante inscrito en el Condado para asegurar que los votantes están notificados de sus opciones de cómo, dónde y cuándo votar.
