VENTURA — The Ventura Police Department invites residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to participate in its Strategic Plan Community Questionnaire. This short, accessible feedback form, available in English and Spanish, gives the community a direct voice in shaping the department’s priorities and goals.
Designed to take less than five minutes, the questionnaire is open through October 27, 2025. It allows Ventura’s diverse population to share perspectives on community safety, crime concerns, and ideas for how the department can better serve and protect the city as it grows and changes.
“Policing today requires more than just responding to calls, it demands proactive strategies, strong partnerships, and clear direction,” said Chief David Dickey. “Community input is essential to de-veloping a strategic plan that truly reflects the needs and priorities of the people we serve. Your feedback will guide how we allocate resources, improve services, and strengthen trust throughout Ventura.”
The questionnaire asks participants to share their views on safety in neighborhoods, parks, com-mercial areas, schools, and on roads. It also asks them to rank the urgency of issues such as traffic enforcement, criminal vagrancy and encampments, gang activity, narcotics, property crime, violent crime, and parking concerns.
The Ventura Police Department encourages everyone who lives, works, owns a business, or visits Ventura to participate. Responses will directly inform department goals, community programs, and policing strategies for the coming years.
