Hello lovers of Teatro/Theatre
Teatro de las Américas did not get funding this year from the Oxnard City Cultural Arts Fund. I wrote the grant proposal and am studying the rationale for the low scores received. Of course I feel bad about it. But I console myself by planning to submit a grant next year after learning from this year’s feed back. As it is, the grant rules require organizations that have been funded for 5 years to take a year off. So Teatro is taking its year off earlier than planned.
In the meantime we face a number of challenges with the first being short of funds to produce the play planned for September.
So we are undertaking a campaign to raise money. Every dollar counts. Our work should go on. Help us out by supporting the next play, La Celestina, directed by Costa Palamidis with many of the same actors you saw last year in his production of Don Perlimplín.

Teatro de las Américas no recibió beca del Fondo para las Artes de la ciudad de Oxnard. Yo escribe la petición, y estoy estudiando las razones por las cuales no recibimos buena calificación. Por cierto me siento mal, pero me consuelo pensando ya en la propuesta del año que entra. De todos modos, Habríamos que salir de la competición el año 2019, pues se debe descansar cada 5 años.
Meintras nos enfrentan varios retos; el primero producer la obra de septiembre. El rabajo debe seguir. Ayúdenos con su apoyo de la próxima obra, La Celestina, dirigida por Costa Palamidis con muchos de los mismos actors en su producci ón del año pasado, Don Perlimplín.
