2025 Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony

 

The Ventura County Fire Department will host the 2025 Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony:

  • Thursday, November 6th
  • 10:00 am to 11:30 a.m.
  • Ventura County Government Center, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.

 

The annual ceremony honors the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. The event will include a presentation of colors, a bell ceremony, a moment of silence, and remarks from fire officials and community leaders.

 

Community members are invited to attend and pay tribute to Ventura County’s fallen heroes.

County agencies team up for Halloween Blood Drive

Join Ventura County Emergency Medical Services and Ventura County Medical Center for a Halloween Blood Drive & Touch-a-Truck Event!

  • Wednesday, October 29, 2025
  • 12:00 – 4:00 PM
  • Ventura County Medical Center 300 Hillmont Ave, Ventura

Donate blood, explore emergency vehicles, and meet our EMS, Fire, and law enforcement heroes! Get trained on how to “Stop the Bleed” and perform “Sidewalk CPR” from local first responders.

The County of Ventura Salutes our Veterans

Join us as we pay tribute this Veterans Day to our County employees who have served in the U.S. Armed Services or continue to serve. Twenty four American flags will be placed around the VC Veterans Memorial and flown in honor of our veterans across our County agencies.

A reminder that County offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. County offices will reopen Wednesday November 12th.

Don’t miss the Pumpkin Paddle at Channel Islands Harbor!

 

The Channel Islands Harbor transforms into a Halloween playground this weekend with Parade of Frights & Pumpkin Paddle!

  • Saturday, October 25, 2025
  • 10:00am to 9:00pm
  • 3900 Pelican Way, Oxnard

Pumpkin Paddle (10 a.m.) – Kayakers and paddleboarders are invited to dress in costume and paddle from the East Bank Day Dock to Peninsula Park. Harbor Patrol will be on hand to ensure safety.

Parade of Frights (3 p.m.–9 p.m.) – Enjoy family-friendly activities starting at 3 p.m., then stick around for the boat parade at 7 p.m. featuring decorated vessels lighting up the water.

SERVICE SPOTLIGHT – Ventura County Animal Services Mobile Vet Clinic

Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) has officially launched its Mobile Vet Clinic, a 25-foot mobile unit designed to bring affordable veterinary care directly to communities across Ventura County.

 

The new mobile clinic is equipped for surgical procedures such as spay and neuter and will travel to underserved areas to provide essential medical services. The goal is to increase access to care, reduce pet overpopulation, and help alleviate overcrowding at the County’s animal shelters.

 

The Mobile Vet Clinic was unveiled to the public on October 15th and was made possible through generous donations to the Animal Services Foundation of Ventura County.
