VENTURA – The Wedding Room in the Ventura County Clerk and Recorder’s office was officially named in honor of retiring County Clerk-Recorder, Registrar of Voters Mark Lunn, following the Ventura County Board of Supervisors’ approval this month. The public and media are invited to commemorate the dedication of the “Mark A. Lunn Wedding Room” on Dec. 29 at the Ventura County Government Center – Hall of Administration, 800 S. Victoria Ave. in Ventura.
Supervisor Matt LaVere, chair of the Board of Supervisors, made the recommendation to name the wedding room in honor of Mr. Lunn at the Board’s Dec. 13 meeting.
“This is a fitting tribute to Mark Lunn’s work here as Clerk and Recorder on behalf of the County,” LaVere said. “One of the best things about working here at the Government Center is walking around and seeing all the people who come in to get married, surrounded by their families and loved ones. It is because of Mark’s vision that this wedding room came into existence in 2015 during his tenure.”
Supervisor Linda Parks and Oxnard Mayor Pro Tem Bryan MacDonald submitted letters in support of the recommendation, which the Board approved unanimously.
“I am very honored to have the wedding room named for me,” Lunn said. “It was a very special project that hundreds of couples have been able to enjoy as a benefit on their happiest day. I’m grateful to have been able to leave a lasting legacy for the people of Ventura County.”
The Dec. 29 events begin at 4:30 p.m. with an Open House in the new Mark A. Lunn Wedding Room in the County Clerk/Recorder’s Office. A retirement program commemorating Lunn’s 51 years of public service will begin at 5:15 in the Hall of Administration Main Plaza. VENTURA – – La Sala de Ceremonias en la oficina del Secretario-Registrador del Condado de Ventura fue nombrado oficialmente en honor del Secretario-Registrador, Registrador de Votantes del Condado Mark Lunn que jubilará próximamente, tras la aprobación de la Mesa de Supervisores del Condado de Ventura este mes. El público y los medios de comunicación están invitados para conmemorar la dedicación de la “Sala de Ceremonias de Mark A. Lunn” el 29 de diciembre en el Centro del Gobierno del Condado de Ventura – Edificio de Administración, 800 S. Victoria Ave. en Ventura.
El Supervisor Matt LaVere, presidente de la Mesa de Supervisores, en la junta del 13 de diciembre de la Mesa, hizo la recomendación a nombrar la sala de ceremonias en honor del Sr. Lunn.
“Este es un tributo apropiado, de parte del Condado, al trabajo aquí de Mark Lunn como Secretario y Registrador,” dijo LaVere. “Una de las mejores cosas de trabajar aquí en el Centro de Gobierno es andar alrededor y ver toda la gente que llegan para casarse, rodeados por sus familias y seres queridos. Es por causa de visión de Mark que esta sala vino a existencia en 2015 durante su ocupación.”
La Supervisora Linda Parks y Bryan MacDonald, el Alcalde Provisional de Oxnard presentaron cartas en apoyo de la recomendación, cual fue aprobada unánime por la Mesa.
“Estoy honrado a tener la sala de ceremonias nombrado por mí,” dijo Lunn. “Era un proyecto muy especial que cienes de parejas han podido disfrutar como beneficio en su día más feliz. Estoy agradecido de haber podido dejar un legado para el pueblo del Condado de Ventura.”
Los eventos del 29 de diciembre comienzan a la 4:30 p.m. con la Casa Abierta en la nueva Sala de Ceremonias de Mark A. Lunn en la Oficina del Secretario-Registrador del Condado. Un programa de jubilación conmemorando los 51 años de servicio público de Lunn empezará a la 5:15 en la Plaza Principal del Edificio de Administración.
