COVID-19 Update
There are 1,046 new COVID-19 cases. There have been 19,980 new tests performed for a total of 1,071,606 total COVID-19 tests performed. There are 176 people who are currently hospitalized and 39 in the ICU.
There have been 19 additional deaths: 55 year old male, 65 year old female, 65 year old male, 68 year old male, 74 year old male, 65 year old male, 84 year old male, 76 year old male, 72 year old female, 82 year old female, 86 year old male, 66 year old male, 68 year old male, 90 year old male, 56 year old male, 81 year old male, 69 year old female, 79 year old male, and a 71 year old female.
We extend our deepest sympathy to the families of those who have passed away.

COVID-19 Stats
If you have tested positive for COVID-19 and have questions:
  • Individuals who have tested positive for COVID19 and provided a cell number to the testing site at the time they took the COVID19 test, will receive a text message from Ventura County Public Health (VCPH) with a survey link for case investigation/contact tracing purposes. The message is in English and Spanish. Please respond to the text message by completing the text survey.
  • In the text survey, you will find information on isolation/quarantine, links to more information and resources and VCPH Communicable Disease (CD) unit’s main phone line.
  • If you complete the survey and indicate that you are unable to self-isolate, your case is noted and you will be assigned to a case investigator. The case investigator will contact you for follow up and assistance.
  • If you do not provide a cell phone number to the testing site, you will be assigned to a case investigator for follow up.
  • VCPH’s main CD line (805) 981-5201 is staffed 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. If someone calls after hours, they are provided with an after-hours number they can call, or they can leave a message that VCPH will return their call the next day. The recording is in both English and Spanish.
Individuals needing assistance with isolation/quarantine can call the helpline at (805) 981-5201. It is staffed 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A nurse is also available to speak to after hours.

Vaccine Update – now open to 65 and older. Appointments open weekly.
Vaccines are in limited supply throughout the State of California. Appointments are full at this time. The current phase in Ventura County is Phase 1A: Healthcare workers, long-term care residents and now 65 and older.
Appointments are limited because of the limited supply of vaccines. It will take time to secure an appointment if you are in the current phase. The County of Ventura wants you to have a vaccine and is advocating for more vaccines.
Once more appointments open a message will be sent. At that time, community members who are eligible to be vaccinated may:

The Area Agency on Aging provides transportation services for older adults that are in need of transportation to a vaccine appointment or for COVID-19 testing. This includes people that need lift assist as well as gurney transportation. The driver will take the individual, wait for them, help them at the site and take them home. To schedule a ride call 805-477-7300. Please note, you must have a vaccine appointment before you schedule a ride to a vaccine site.

Si usted recibe un resultado positivo de COVID-19 y tiene preguntas:
  1. Las personas que tienen un resultado positivo de COVID-19 y que proveyeron un número de celular en el sitio de pruebas cuando se hicieron la prueba del COVID-19, recibirán un mensaje de texto de Salud Pública del Condado de Ventura (VCPH) con un enlace a una encuesta con el propósito de investigación de cao/seguimiento de contactos. El mensaje es en inglés y español. Por favor responda al mensaje de texto completando la encuesta.
  2. En la encuesta de texto, encontrará información sobre el aislamiento/cuarentena, enlaces a más información y recursos y la línea telefónica de la unidad de Enfermedades Contagiosas de VCPH.
