VENTURA — The County of Ventura’s Assessor’s Office has sent out by mail approximately 250,000 assessed value notices to taxpayers of Ventura County. These notices inform owners of their property’s assessed value as of January 1, 2023.
Of the notices that have been sent out, approximately 200,000 postcard notices show the 2% increase in value due to Proposition 13. Another 7,700 notices will notify the owner that the property’s Market Value is less than the Prop 13 (Base Year) Value.
Annually, the Assessor’s Office handles over 30,000 calls and is ready and available to answer questions pertaining to the assessed value. Residents who may have questions about the annual value notice they receive are encouraged to contact Assessor staff at (805) 654-2181 or visit assessor.countyofventura.org.
Residents who may not agree with the assessed value and want to dispute the valuation are able to complete an Assessment Appeal Applications, which can be filed with the Clerk of the Assessment Appeals Board between July 2 and September 15, 2023 by calling (805) 654-2251 or by visiting www.ventura.org/cob/aab
