I think I have it figured out. Donald Trump is actually working for Hillary Clinton. He must be, given that many political pundits predict that he will hand over the White House to Hillary if indeed he were to win the Republican nomination for the presidential race, or if he forms a third party, as he has threatened to do.
This “notion” is not as far-fetched as some of the theories that Mr. Trump has been spouting as often as some of his apparently invented stories have been sprouting along the campaign trail, and even previous to that.
In order to understand Trump’s sway among his faithful followers, we need only consider the parallel universe in which he functions, and the feedback cycle that not only supports Trump’s mean-spirited, jaw-dropping proclamations and insults, but also gives them buoyancy as they take on a life of their own. Take, for example, Trump’s assurances that President Obama was not born in the United States, despite all the official documentation and evidence to the contrary. Whereas “news sources” for other candidates might include the Associated Press, Wall Street Journal or the New York or Los Angeles Times, for Mr. Trump they comprise Twitter (you can believe everything on it, right?) and extremist, far-right, paranoia-inducing news media, such as that represented by Alex Jones, a frighteningly influential conspiracy theorist. When Trump makes an outrageous claim that flies in the face of rational analysis, it sounds perfectly credible to those who tune into these ultra-libertarian news sources as their only connection to the world around them. This grants Trump even more credibility, which in turn throws fuel on the fire of right-wing media and its influence, which then gives Trump even greater stature as the “hero” of extreme conservatives, and Twitter lights up again, giving Trump yet more authority. The cycle continues to spiral upward into thinner atmosphere until the last spark of rationality is extinguished, and where meaningful dialogue becomes impossible.

El Universo Análogo de Trump

Creo que ya entendí. Donald Trump de hecho está trabajando para Hillary Clinton. Ha de ser, puesto que muchos expertos políticos predicen que él le entregará a Hillary la Casa Blanca si de verdad él fuera a ganar la nominación republicana del concurso presidencial, o si forma un tercer partido, lo cual ha amenazado.
Esta “noción” no es tan fuera de lo posible como algunas de las teorías que el Sr. Trump ha estado promulgando incansablemente con la misma frecuencia que algunos cuentos aparentemente inventados que se han ido esparciendo a lo largo del recorrido electoral.
Para comprender mejor la gran influencia que Trump tiene entre sus discípulos, hemos de tomar en cuenta solamente el universo análogo en el cual él obra, y el ciclo de retroalimentación que no solamente sostiene las sorprendentes proclamaciones y viles insultos del Sr. Trump, sino que también los fortalece al mismo tiempo que cobran vida propia. Pensemos, por ejemplo, en las garantías de Trump, asegurándonos que el presidente Obama no había nacido en Estados Unidos, a pesar de toda la documentación y evidencia al contrario. Mientras que “fuentes de noticias” para otros candidatos podrían incluir el Associated Press, Wall Street Journal o el Times de New York o de Los Angeles, para el Sr. Trump son Twitter (en donde todo es la mera verdad, ¿no es cierto?) y los medios de comunicación extremista a la derecha que inspiran paranoia, tales como aquello representado por Alex Jones, un teorista conspirativa espantosamente influyente. Cuando Trump suelta una proclamación ofensiva que contradice todo análisis racional, suena perfectamente creíble a aquellos quienes sintonizan esas fuentes de noticias ultra-liberales, la única conexión que tienen al mundo que los rodea. Esto le otorga a Trump aún más credibilidad, lo cual a su vez le echa gasolina al fuego de los medios ultra-derechistas y sus influencias, lo cual le presta a Trump una estatura aún más marcada como el “héroe” de los conservativos extremistas, y Twitter se prende de nuevo, prestándole a Trump más autoridad aún. El ciclo sigue subiendo en espiral hacia la atmósfera más tenue hasta que la última chispa de racionalidad se extingue, y en donde el diálogo se vuelve imposible.
