Xavier “Big X” Montes will be performing from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 11 at the Santa Paula Senior Center, 530 W. Main St., as part of the “Cinco de Mama” celebration. The event features a tostada bar. $3 donation for those 60 years of age and older, $5 for all others. Call 805.033.4226, ext. 354.

Montes will also be performing at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14 in the Community Room of Simi Valley Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley.

Finally, Montes will be performing at the 15th annual Wine and Beer Tasting & Silent Auction from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at the Courtyard by Marriott, 600 E. Esplanade Drive, Oxnard.

The event is presented by the Ventura County Paralegal Association. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Ventura County Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyers Services Program, which provides legal services to individuals who cannot afford legal representation.

Advance tickets are $25, $30 at the door. Each ticket purchased includes a commemorative wine glass, hors d’oeuvres and entry in the grand prize opportunity drawing. Many unique items and valuable services have been donated by local businesses for the silent auction, organizers reported in a media release.
