Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County Unveils New Brand Aimed at Volunteer Recruitment

Ventura County mentoring organization’s new brand look emphasizes the potential inherent in all children.

VENTURA COUNTY — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County, along with more than 270 Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliates across the country, recently unveiled a new, modern look and brand repositioning with a goal of recruiting more diverse volunteers.

“The need in Ventura County for young people to have a role model is more urgent than ever,” said Lynne West, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County. “To attract more volunteers of all generations, we needed a modernization of our brand to make an impact in the community and meet the need of the essential work of matching youth with mentors.”

On Thursday, October 18, 2018 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house in collaboration with Oxnard Chamber of Commerce and Ventura Chamber of Commerce. They will be celebrating the new BBSVC Brand as well as their new administrative location.  This event will take place from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at: 555 Airport Way, Suite D, Camarillo 93010. All are welcome to attend this event, and tours and refreshments will be offered. For more information regarding this event please contact Danica at dselvaggio@bbsvc.org or 805-484-2282.

Months of research, including focus groups with potential Bigs, as well as current Bigs, Littles, donors, staff, and leadership showed that a new, contemporary brand was needed to connect with younger, prospective mentors and to convey the urgent mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The mission will remain the same, as will the core model of building bridges in communities by connecting one adult with one child and supporting that match at every stage, but the organization will focus on what mentoring potential means for a child, and our role as adults in helping children achieve their best possible futures.
