Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County (BBSVC) announces new executive board members

VENTURA COUNTYBig Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County (BBSVC), a one-to-one youth mentoring organization, announces the appointment of two new officers to its Board of Dihttps://bbsvc.org/rectors. The new appointments are President Eric Mandell, VP, Senior Commercial Lender at CDC Small Business Finance, and Treasurer Jesus Garcia, AVP of Member Experience at CBC Federal Credit Union.

“The mission of BBSVC is to build and professionally support relationships that ignite the biggest possible future for the county’s youth. We are excited to welcome our new officers who will help us accomplish our goal of serving 1,500 youth across Ventura County” says the agency’s CEO, Lynne West.
Eric Mandell of Thousand Oaks is a strong believer in giving back to the community. He has served as past President of the American Heart Association, Board member of the American Cancer Society, a recipient of the “Volunteer of the Year” award from the American Cancer Society, a long time board member of the Conejo Valley Little League, and a member of the BBSVC board since 2017.
Jesus Garcia is a new resident of Camarillo and serves on the BBSVC board because of his commitment to mentorship. He understands the power of positive role models and credits career mentors for his greatest advancements. Jesus has been a member of the board since 2018 and has been a Big Brother in the program for three months.
The agency would like to thank outgoing President Chip Marvin for his leadership and continued support of the organization. Marvin is a Senior Manager for Amgen Inc. and has been a member of BBSVC’s board since 2010. He has served as a Big Brother for more than 19 years.
Other new members of the board are Natalie Mussi, President & CEO of Los Robles Hospital, Omead Jafroodi, President of American Horticulture Supplies, Steve Nason, President of Hygiena, and Brian Ternan, CEO, Health Net California.  ?
“Our organization has seen great growth under Chip’s leadership in the last four years,” West said. “He has been a fantastic asset to BBSVC  as well as being a Big Brother for many years. It was our pleasure to follow his leadership and learn from his example.”
