Ballet Folklorico, MICOP to present ‘El Sabor de Mexico Sur’ on Nov. 9

OXNARD — The Ballet Folklórico Mestizo of Oxnard College and the Mixteco/Indigena Community Organizing Project will present “El Sabor de México Sur,” with special guests Ballet Folklórico Nueva Antequera from Los Angeles, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at Oxnard College, 4000 So. Rose Ave., Oxnard in the Oxnard Performing Arts Center.

All of the dances will be from the Mexican state of Tabasco, Michoacan, Chiapas and Oaxaca. The event also includes Chinas Oaxaqueñas of MICOP and Ñuu Savi, along with local artisans displaying and selling their works.

All funds raised from the evening will support the work of MICOP to build a strong, healthy indigenous community and to advocate for justice in Ventura County and beyond.
