The Santa Paula Art Museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year is back in person! Sixty works of art will be up for grabs during the Museum’s 13th Annual Fine Art Auction Fundraiser on Saturday, August 19. The silent auction featuring 40 fine art pieces will run from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The live auction featuring 20 museum-quality artworks will run from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. led by professional auctioneer John Eubanks of California Auctioneers. Admission to the auction event is $15.00 for SPAM members and $20.00 for non-members. All proceeds benefit the Santa Paula Art Museum, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

The Museum’s auction committee has been hard at work assembling our best lineup of live auction artworks to date! Bid on art by historic California artists like Jessie Arms Botke, Cornelis Botke, Douglas Shively, Paul Lauritz, Samuel Hyde Harris, and Ralph Holmes, as well as contemporary pieces by artists like Susan Petty, Gail Pidduck, Gary Ray, and more.

For instance, learn more about artist Lewis Henry Meakin’s “Mountain Landscape” (the first example of 19th-century Impressionism we’ve put up for bid) and its connection to Claude Monet in the video linked below.

Art Camp: Intro to Ceramics – Face Vase (Ages 9-12)

Monday, August 7, to Friday, August 11, 2023,

from 9 AM to 12 PM each day

$160 per child for five days of camp

Last call for Kids’ Summer Art Camp at SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center! Our final summer camp, Intro to Ceramics: Face Vase, for ages 9 to 12 will be led by the amazing Roxanne Casas. Campers will learn basic skills in hand-building ceramics and glazing techniques. All skill levels are welcome and all supplies are provided. Preregistration is required.
