SANTA BARBARA — The Santa Barbara Museum of Art will present Studio Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12 at 1130 State St., Santa Barbara.
Visitors of all ages are welcome to participate in this hands-on workshop with SBMA Teaching Artists in the Museum’s Family Resource Center. Each month explore a different medium, including clay, metal, ink, wood, photography, and paper, and gain inspiration from works of art in the Museum’s permanent collection or special exhibitions.
In August, inspired by Fernando de Szyszlo’s Mar de Lurin, make a maquette paper sculpture, sketch the impression of the sculpture on the black canvas paper, and then paint it using foam spatulas.
