Friday nights under the stars! Arts & Lectures’ annual FREE Summer Cinema series continues with the theme “Out of This World”

  • UCSB Arts & Lectures’ “Out of this World” FREE Summer Cinema continues with Star Trek
  • Friday, August 11 | 8:30 p.m. | Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Garden
  • Out of This World, seven nights of space creature-themed movies under the stars, Friday nights through August 25 (no screening Friday, August 4 due to Fiesta)
  • Presented in association with the Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture
  • Premier sponsor Montecito Bank & Trust
  • Attendees can start setting up at noon (12 p.m.) on the day of the screening.
  • Please respect the lawn and your fellow filmgoers: only bring blankets that are permeable (no plastic/nylon/tarps), and chairs that are low-backed and low to the ground
  • Come dressed in your favorite Star Trek or space adventure costume for the chance to win fun prizes from Metro Entertainment, including a $100 gift certificate. Metro Entertainment is a downtown hub for comics, collectibles, and gaming.

SANTA BARBARA — Get ready to explore the galaxy this summer with UCSB Arts & Lectures’ 2023 FREE Summer Cinema line-up: Out of This World. The series continues with J. J. Abrams’ thrilling 2009 resurrection of the Star Trek franchise.

ABOUT STAR TREK

ENHANCED ACCESS FOR UCSB STUDENTS

Free round-trip transportation from the UCSB campus will be available to UCSB students with valid student ID. (Note pick up location in Isla Vista.) Santa Barbara Airbus will depart from Seville Road (near the IV Food Co-op) at 7 PM and the University Plaza loop adjacent to Campbell and Cheadle halls at 7:15 PM, and pick up at 10:45 PM from the Figueroa Street side of the courthouse to return to IV and campus.
