OXNARD — Friends of Campus Park, the organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of Oxnard’s diverse community, is excited to announce a fundraiser in celebration of grants received for Campus Park’s first phase. The event will take place on August 10th at 6:30pm in Downtown Oxnard’s Heritage Square.
The fundraiser aims to commemorate the grants, which have been instrumental in bringing Campus Park to life and advancing Friends of Campus Park’s mission. It also serves as an opportunity to gather support and resources for the organization’s ongoing efforts in developing the park and creating enjoyable spaces for the community.
Friends of Campus Park highly values its strong partnership with the City of Oxnard and remains committed to working closely together to ensure the success and sustainability of Campus Park. This collaboration is driven by a shared goal of enriching the community and providing residents with a beautiful and accessible green space.
Attendees can anticipate a delightful evening featuring live music, delectable food, refreshing drinks, a vibrant silent auction, and a captivating performance by local artist Araceli Collazo. Araceli Collazo’s world music performance, known for its original work as well as folk and traditional songs from Mexico and Latin America, will mesmerize the audience.
The event will also host honorary guests, including representatives from the CNU-CA. In honor of the late Supervisor Carmen Ramirez, the CNU-CA has generously provided a $1,000 charitable gift, which will be utilized to plant a tree within Campus Park—a fitting tribute to Supervisor Carmen Ramirez, a staunch supporter of Friends of Campus Park’s vision for a nature-themed park.
Friends of Campus Park is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a dedicated governing board. Their unwavering commitment is to enhance the quality of life in Oxnard’s diverse community by creating enjoyable and inspiring spaces, fostering connections between people and nature, and providing educational opportunities for environmental awareness.
