OXNARD — The Canyon Club Agoura Hills & the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club have joined forces during the COVID-19 pandemic to bring their audiences a new form of entertainment. The new event, Parked Car Comedy, features comedians, live music, food and drinks, all from the safety & comfort of your car.
The event will be Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way, Oxnard. Gates open at 6 p.m. with comedians performing from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $40 in advance or at the door until sold out.
Saturday’s event will feature Headliner Jerry Garcia from his HBO comedy special, “It’s Not My Weekend,” and “They Can’t Deport Us All” now streaming on Netflix. The event will also feature comedians Robert Zapata, Rene Vaca and Jesus Sepulveda as well as live music from DJ Chuy Rumba Buena.
The event hosts came up with the idea for the event to provide folks with entertainment and to show that life and laughter can go on, even during these trying times.

Jerry Garcia has stormed his way onto the national comedy scene with his half hour HBO comedy special, “It’s Not My Weekend.” He debuted on Fox’s Laugh Comedy Special and featured on HBO’s “Entre Nos,” and Chingo Bling’s, “They Can’t Deport Us All” now streaming on Netflix. Jerry continues to grow his fan base with his fan base nationwide while crossing over as a voice actor in the animated film, PLOEY.
He started his career at the Ha Ha Comedy Club located in North Hollywood, California and performed with Dane Cook, Paul Rodriguez, Jon Lovitz, and Arie Spearsat the Laugh Factory and Alex Reymundo at The Improv. He also performs at the Comedy Store on Sunset and The Ice House. Not only does he perform at all the major comedy clubs around Los Angeles but also at 4th and B’s in San Diego, The San Jose Improv, in Texas and in Las Vegas.
Robert has also produced shows at the world famous Cine-Space in Hollywood, The Rumba Room at Universal City Walk, and The Ha Ha Comedy Club. He has also been featured on SiTv’s Inside Joke, The Latino Laugh Festival, LATV’s Loco Comedy Jam, and The Laugh Factory Website.Recently he has been accepted into the Groundlings improvisation school in Hollywood.
Rene Vaca was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He started his career at the age of 19 while he was studying at the University of California, Merced. Where he eventually dropped out for his dream of becoming a stand up comedian. Rene Vaca has shared the stage with great comedians in the industry such as Willie Barcena, Joey Medina, Amir K., Bill Burr, Ken Jeong, Jamie Kennedy & More!
Jesus Sepulveda featured in the newly released Netflix Special Chingo Bling: They Can’t Deport us All that depicts his life growing up Latino in Southern California. He is also on American Wannabes podcast and is performing at clubs and theatres around the country. His stand-up matches the hilarious sketches that he produces on a weekly basis.
DJ Chuy RumbaBuena is A local 805 DJ since 1999. Chuy plays at local clubs like Pirates Latino Thursdays, Copper Blues Sunday Nights, Copa Cobana, La Fonda del Rey and, China Land to name a few.
