Association of Mexican American Educators (AMAE), Oxnard Chapter to sponsor inaugural Ventura County Student Speeh Competition

OXNARD — The Association of Mexican American Educators (AMAE), Oxnard Chapter, is proud to sponsor the First Annual Ventura County Student Speech Competition. Students in grades 6-8 from Ventura County School Districts have been invited to participate.  A student participant from 6th, 7th & 8th grade will be selected by each district to compete at the competition.  The theme of their speeches “Honoring Latino/Indigenous Heroes” will reflect on individuals who have made an important impact in service to their community and humanity. The competition provides students with an opportunity to reflect on contributions made by individuals and their inspiration and impact in their own lives.  Students will share their talents and skills publicly and be acknowledged by the community at large.

We have many talented students in Ventura County and believe this competition will be an excellent opportunity for them to use their academic skills outside of the classroom as they explore, discover and learn about important leaders and heroes in our country’s history.

The competition will take place on October 11, 2019, at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center.  For more information and banquet ticket availability visit our website at www.amaeoxnard.org
