VENTURA — The Ventura Police Department is partnering with the Autism Society Ventura County to host Coffee with a Cop, an event dedicated to raising awareness and support for individuals and families affected by autism. Join police officers on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at Café Ficelle in midtown Ventura, located at 2126 E. Main St.
In honor of National Autism Acceptance Month, Ventura Police officers are selling limited-edition t-shirts and stickers throughout April, with all proceeds benefiting the Autism Society Ventura County and its programs. Community members can support the cause by attending the event, purchasing a t-shirt or sticker while supplies last, or making a direct donation at www.AutismVentura.org
“As a parent of a child with autism, this initiative is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Officer Aric Almaguer. “Since 2023, we’ve raised nearly $5,000, and it’s been amazing to see the community come together in support of local families. I’m hopeful that this year we can raise even more, continuing to make a positive impact and foster greater awareness and acceptance.”
This offering provides an opportunity for community members to connect with local officers in a relaxed setting—no speeches, no agenda, just meaningful conversations over coffee. Residents, students, and families are encouraged to stop by, ask questions, and build relationships with their police department.

Departamento de Policía de Ventura recauda fondos en su evento Café con un Policía en apoyo de la concientización del autismo
VENTURA — El Departamento de Policía de Ventura se ha asociado con la Sociedad de Autismo del Condado de Ventura para organizar un “Café con un Policía”, un evento dedicado a concientizar y apoyar a las personas y familias afectadas por el autismo. Únase a los oficiales de policía el miércoles 9 de abril de 2025, de 8:00 a 9:30 a.m., en el Café Ficelle del centro de Ventura, ubicado en 2126 E. Main St.
En honor al Mes Nacional de la Aceptación del Autismo, los oficiales de la Policía de Ventura venderán camisetas y calcomanías de edición limitada durante todo el mes de abril para recaudar fondos para la Sociedad de Autismo del Condado de Ventura y sus programas. Los miembros de la comunidad pueden apoyar la causa asistiendo al evento, comprando una camiseta o una calcomanía hasta agotar existencias o haciendo una donación directa en www.AutismVentura.org.
“Como padre de un niño con autismo, esta iniciativa es increíblemente significativa para mí”, dijo el oficial Aric Almaguer. “Desde 2023, hemos recaudado casi $5,000 y ha sido increíble ver a la comunidad unirse para apoyar a las familias locales. Espero que este año podamos recaudar aún más, seguir generando un impacto positivo y promover una mayor concienciación y aceptación”.
Esta iniciativa ofrece a los miembros de la comunidad la oportunidad de conectar con los oficiales locales en un ambiente relajado, sin discursos ni agenda, solo conversaciones significativas mientras toman un café. Se anima a los residentes, estudiantes y familias a visitar, hacer preguntas y fortalecer las relaciones con su Departamento de Policía.
