April 6 — Veterans Services Office and Atascadero VFW to Host Resource Fair in North County

SAN LUIS OBISPO — The County of San Luis Obispo’s Veterans Services Office (VSO) and Atascadero’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2814 is proud to announce a family-friendly pop-up resource fair for Veterans in the North County. The event will occur on April 6th from 10am-2pm on the Veterans Memorial Lawn in Atascadero, near the Faces of Freedom Veterans Memorial.

“The County of San Luis Obispo’s VSO is pleased to be partnering with the Atascadero’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2814 to connect our North County’s Veterans with access to resources that support a healthier, more resilient Veteran Community,” said Morgan Boyd, the County Veterans Services Officer.

This event is part of an effort by The County VSO to hold these pop-up resource fairs monthly at different locations throughout the county, providing our Veterans a chance to get the help and assistance they require near where they are. “This event is the start of what we hope will turn into a lasting friendship with our Veteran community in San Luis Obispo County,” says Kendra Scott, Outreach Coordinator and Veterans Service Representative with the County’s VSO.

The goal of the resource fair is to provide a one-stop-shop for goods and services to Veterans in the community in cooperation with state and federal assistance programs and local vendors to provide Medical, Health, Financial, and Social benefits.
