Join ILLUMINATE Film Festival as we celebrate the 5th Anniversary of this epic mind-expanding film with Director Louie Schwartzberg presenting a stunningly remastered new release.

Together, we will embark on a cinematic adventure into the heart of nature and discover the hidden wonders and therapeutic value of the fungal kingdom under our feet.

You’ll want to be sure to catch Fantastic Fungi: Remastered with us on the big screen where its breathtaking cinematography and visual effects are in their full glory.

After the screening, Louie Schwartzberg and District216 founder, Jacob Tell, will lead an engaging community discussion regarding the role of psilocybin and other psychedelics in personal and planetary healing.

The ILLUMINATE Film Festival is delighted to award Fantastic Fungi: 

Remastered  with its inaugural illumiNATURE Award, which honors films that affirm our innate interconnectedness with the natural world. The award will be co-presented at the screening by ILLUMINATE’s Director, Téana David, and artist, Belle Hahn.

Originally released in 2019, Fantastic Fungi quickly dazzled critics and moviegoers worldwide with its stunning visuals, captivating storytelling, and enlightening exploration of the interconnectedness of all life forms. The film achieved 100% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

RECAP – Reflecting on an Evening of Earth-Based Wisdom with Speaker Shane Norte
Throughout the evening, Shane emphasized the importance of reconnecting with the Earth and embracing daily practices of gratitude. He reminded us that by staying present and mindful, we can detach ourselves from the fears of the modern world and find solace in the beauty of nature.

One particularly poignant moment occurred when an audience member raised the question of space exploration and the possibility of colonizing Mars. In response, Shane challenged us to reconsider our priorities. He questioned the logic of venturing to another planet when we have yet to fully care for our own. His words served as a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving and nurturing our home planet.
