The Office of Ventura County Supervisor John Zaragoza is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on the County of Ventura Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board (ADAB), Zaragoza reported Tuesday in a media release.
The ADAB advises the board of supervisors on the county’s needs and problems where alcohol and drugs are concerned. More specifically, the purpose of the ADAB is:
- Review and evaluate substance abuse services, facilities, and special programs in Ventura County.
- Act in an advisory capacity to the County Board of Supervisors and the Behavioral Health Department.
- Publish ADAB actions and activities for public access.
- Assess public understanding of alcohol and drug programs.
- Prepare an Annual Report to the Board of Supervisors.
- Comment on pending legislation.
Applicants must be Ventura County residents, and ideally would live in County Supervisorial District #5, which includes the majority of Oxnard, El Rio, Nyeland Acres, the Strickland neighborhood and the Hollywood Beach and Silver Strand Beach areas.
