SANTA BARBARA — Santa Barbara City College received reaffirmation of its accreditation status from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) earlier this month.
“I am very pleased that Santa Barbara City College received full reaffirmation of its accreditation standing with the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges” said Superintendent/President Anthony E. Beebe.
He goes on to say that, “This demonstrates to the public and our Santa Barbara community that our college has met and is maintaining the high standards set by an independent accrediting agency. It is a wonderful statement to the quality of our faculty, staff, and administration at the college.”
In their determination, the Commission thanked Santa Barbara City College for “sharing the values and the work of accreditation to ensure educational quality and to support student success.”
The accreditation process is conducted every six years not only to evaluate the quality of the institution, but also to encourage institutional improvement. SBCC will conduct the accreditation process again in 2021.
