VENTURA — Attend Ventura’s Summer Kickoff event on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Westpark Community Center, located at 450 W. Harrison Avenue.
This free, family-friendly event, hosted by the Parks & Recreation department, offers residents an opportunity to engage with staff and upcoming programs in the Summer Activity Guide before registration opens on April 7. The Summer Activity Guide will be published online March 17, 2026.
Free activities include a Kids Play Zone featuring a jolly jump, giant Jenga, giant checkers, face painting, and arts and crafts. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., food trucks including Pizza Man Dan’s, Kona Ice, and Viviana’s will offer food and beverages for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and enjoy a picnic in the park.
Community partners will be on-site providing additional activities and resources, including:

Ventura County Mobile Library – Books, story time, and library resources.

City of Ventura Human Resources – Information on summer job opportunities (ages 16+).

Environmental Sustainability Division – Educational games, giveaways, and sustainability tips.

Ventura Police Department and Fire Department – Touch-a-Truck vehicles, CPR activity, and giveaways.

Ventura Water – Water conservation education, rebate information, gardening tips, and giveaways.

Parks & Recreation – Help develop the City’s Arts & Culture policy through feedback and activities.

Ventura County Public Health – Free chronic disease prevention information and screenings.

Westside Community Council – Information about community initiatives and neighborhood engagement.

Westside Community Development Corp. – Programs supporting Westside residents and businesses.

Skyhawks Sports Academy – Youth sports program for basketball, soccer, and baseball.

Ohana Surf Camp – Information about upcoming youth surf camps at Marina Park.

Chase Bank – Financial literacy resources and classes to help manage money.
Parking at Westpark Community Center is very limited, and attendees are encouraged to walk or bike to the event. The recently improved Ventura River Trail provides convenient access to the park.
