SPEAKER BIO

Speaker: Shine Rilling, Life Force Ally

Shine Rilling is a visionary, public speaker, teacher, healer, musician, and Earth ally livicated to human transformation and planetary healing. He is the founder of World Peace Tribe, Peace Sticks, Bee Magic Sacred Chocolate, Shining Lion Music, and the Uni Kawa Shipibo Center for World Peace. With a background in biology (honors degree, University of San Diego) and minors in psychology, philosophy, and Spanish, Shine integrates both scientific and spiritual perspectives into his work. He is also a devoted father, committed to the well-being of children and future generations.

Raised in a family that grew medicinal gardens and practiced herbal healing, Shine’s path with plants began in childhood. Early exposure to Native American ceremonies deepened his connection to spirit, nature, and ancestral ways of knowing. His lifelong love of surfing, ecology, movement, and indigenous wisdom traditions has taken him to over 15 countries, where he has studied Taoism, Yoga, Capoeira, and trained with shamans from the Americas, Africa, Hawaii, and Indonesia.

Through his invention of Peace Sticks, Shine developed methodologies for awakening life-force energy, reconnecting people to their true nature, community, and the Earth. He has led Peace Ceremonies worldwide, collaborating with local communities to create Eco Peace Centers.

His introduction to peyote brought him into the Native American Church, where he received the legal right to participate in sacred plant medicine ceremonies. Later, his first encounter with ayahuasca offered a profound vision of the human journey—from source, through birth and life, and back to source—preparing him to become a father.

RECAP: “The Art of Psychedelic Hospitality: Lessons from Erica Siegal”

Earlier this month at The District House, we had the privilege of hosting Erica Siegal, LCSW, for a workshop that brought this truth front and center. A leader in harm reduction and a seasoned consultant for psychedelic spaces of all shapes and sizes — from underground circles to massive festivals — Erica guided us into the heart of what it means to truly hold space.

Her message was clear: You can’t do this work alone.

And if you try to? You might be putting your guests at risk.

If you’re the only sober person at your event, you’re not holding a safe container — you’re a liability.

Decriminalize Nature Santa Barbara — Join the Movement!

We’ve launched a community-driven initiative to decriminalize and expand access to entheogenic plants and fungi within the City of Santa Barbara. Our mission is rooted in healing, education, and local political action — and we need your help to make it real. Please take the next step and click the “JOIN” button at www.decriminalizenaturesantabarbara.org to become an official supporter. It’s free, fast, and powerful.

Why are we asking for your support?

We met with City Council members and they are most interested in issues that are most important to their constituents. Having a count of registered voters by Voting District will allow us to successfully persuade them of the importance to this community. The risk is lowered with decriminalization and we need your support to get this done.

Immediate Volunteer Opportunities

We’re looking for community members ready to share their time, skills, and energy:

  • Advocates: Help mobilize supportive voters and increase turnout at local government meetings.
  • Social Media Creators: Design shareable templates and assist with posting and outreach, messaging, website updates.
  • Video Storytellers: Create short videos for city council meetings and social platforms.
  • Data Analysts: Help us interpret data and craft persuasive, evidence-based messages.

Entheogenic plants and fungi — including psilocybin mushrooms, cacti, ayahuasca, and iboga — inspire deep healing and spiritual growth. Together, let’s decriminalize access to these natural medicines and foster a healthier, more compassionate community.
