Local artists Bonnie Quintanilla and Sue Wolhaupter designed and created nearly 65 new pieces exclusively for this show and sale, including sculptural pieces, wall and table art, and practical home wares.
“This show, which benefits the Ventura Land Trust, highlights our commitment to supporting both local and national environmental nonprofits,” said Bonnie Quintanilla, an artist at Blazing Star Arts. “Our work reflects the natural landscapes of Ventura County. Many pieces in this exhibition encouraged us to embrace, adapt, and develop new techniques, resulting in some of our best work.”
Ventura Land Trust has partnered with Rincon Brewery since 2021 to offer the annual show. Featured artists have included painters, photographers, print makers, and fused glass artists. This is the second time that VLT has featured Blazing Star Arts.
“Our previous show with Blazing Arts was so well received, we decided to feature their art again this year,” explained VLT Executive Director Melissa Baffa. “We are very appreciative of the support of Rincon Brewery and Blazing Arts – we love that we get to beautify the walls for several months out of the year and raise awareness of the work we are doing at the same time!”
“We are blessed once again to have the opportunity to support the Ventura Land Trust,” said Sue Wolhaupter, artist. “Our latest work created for this show expresses our appreciation of the natural wonders that surround us. We hope the guests, collectors, and park visitors will enjoy our collection as much as we enjoyed creating it.”
About Ventura Land Trust
The mission of Ventura Land Trust is to permanently protect the land, water, wildlife and scenic beauty of the Ventura region for current and future generations. Founded in 2003, Ventura Land Trust believes that preserving open space and providing public access enhances the economy, quality of life, and public well-being of Ventura and surrounding communities. The organization currently owns and manages land along the Ventura River and in the Ventura hillsides, including the 2,100-acre Harmon Canyon Preserve, which opened in June 2020. Harmon Canyon Preserve is Ventura’s first large-scale nature preserve and is open to the public daily from dawn to dusk for free. In addition to these major holdings, the Ventura Land Trust owns and stewards other smaller parcels across Ventura County. Ventura Land Trust received accreditation by the Land Trust Alliance in 2019. Learn more and become a member at www.venturalandtrust.org.
