Sept. 13, 14 — Ventura Art & Chalk Festival returns to Ventura Harbor Village

VENTURA — Join in a vibrant weekend by the sea at the Ventura Art & Chalk Festival planned for September 13 and 14,2025 from 10 AM to 5 PM on the Ventura Harbor promenade. Watch in awe as over  50 professional chalk artists transform the walkway into a kaleidoscope of color with large-scale, hand-drawn murals

The event  will transform into a vibrant, seaside gallery bursting with color and creativity! Hosted by the Rotary Club of Ventura, this beloved community event is more than just feast for the eyes—it’s a powerful fundraiser supporting youth programs and local charities throughout Ventura County.

A Weekend of Art, Color, and Community

Join us for two unforgettable days as over 50 professional chalk artists and artisans from California and beyond bring the Harbor promenade to life with large-scale, 

mesmerizing chalk murals. Spectators are invited to stroll the walkway, watch the masterpieces unfold in real time, and relax on the lawn while enjoying live musical entertainment.

 

Featured Artist: Greg Wray

Among this year’s featured talents is renowned illustrator Greg Wray, known for his work with SEGA, The Walt Disney Company, and Warner Bros. Wray famously illustrated the 

U.S. video game cover for the original Sonic the Hedgehogand several early Sonic book covers. At this year’s festival, he will be creating a Sonic the Hedgehog-themed 

awareness mural.  Attendees are welcome to politely interact with Wray while he works—at the artist’s discretion.

 

Artisan Marketplace & Kids’ Creativity Zone

The festival also features an artisan marketplace showcasing a curated selection of Southern California’s most sought-after original artwork. Shop for paintings, ceramics, 

photography, glasswork, handmade wooden toys, and wearable art—perfect for art lovers and gift seekers alike. Inspired young artists can unleash their creativity in the 

Craftsman’s Marketplace, where a special area is designated for kids to create their own chalk masterpieces alongside the pros!

The Ventura Art & Chalk Festival is more than just a celebration of art—it’s a benefit for local children and families. Proceeds fund free art projects, youth scholarships, and 

donations to local nonprofits. Over the past decade, the festival has raised more than $50,000 for FOOD Share of Ventura County, helping feed families in need and inspire the 

next generation of artists.
