Join the Ventura County Employees’ Retirement Association (VCERA) Board!

The County of Ventura is seeking candidates for — two open seats — on the VCERA Board of Retirement. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping oversee the pension system that serves County employees and retirees.

 

 

 

What is VCERA?

VCERA administers retirement, disability, and death benefits for members of the Ventura County Employees’ Retirement Association. The board plays a key role in governance, investments, funding, and operations.

 

 

Position Details:

  •  Term Length: 3 years
  •  Compensation: Up to $500/month for meeting attendance + approved expenses
  •  Duties: Governance, investment oversight, financial administration, and more

Land Conservation Act Annual Questionnaires due March 3rd!

Attention Ventura County Agricultural Preserve Property Owners! The 2025 Agricultural Preserve Questionnaire has been mailed to you! This annual questionnaire is essential for maintaining your Williamson Act contract and ensuring continued agricultural benefits.

What is it?

The Agricultural Preserve Questionnaire helps the Ventura County Assessor’s Office verify that your land remains in agricultural use and complies with contract terms.

Deadline: March 3, 2025

Incomplete or late submissions may result in contract non-renewal due to non-compliance.

What You Need to Do:

  • Review your questionnaire.
  • Complete all required sections.
  • Submit it by the deadline to avoid any impact on your contract.

Ventura County Animal Services Kicks off 2025 Rabies Clinics
Beginning March 1, 2025, Ventura County Animal Services will offer $10 Rabies Vaccine Clinics!?

These clinics are first come, first served with no appointment needed. Saturday clinics will serve up to the first 25 animals. Payment is accepted via cash or check only. Dogs and cats must be three (3) months or older. Please ensure dogs are on-leash and that cats are in carriers.?

AGENCY SPOTLIGHT – Ventura County Parks Department

The Parks Department is a department of the General Services Agency and is charged with the planning, development, maintenance, and operation of various recreational facilities throughout Ventura County.

The parks are funded and operated with revenues received from user fees and grants. The department is not supported by local tax dollars through the County General Fund. All user fees are retained by the Parks Enterprise Fund for the continued maintenance and enhancement of its recreational facilities.

There are some recreational facilities operated by private enterprises, through long term leases managed by the department. Through the preservation and enhancement of park and recreation facilities within Ventura County and the delivery of world class customer service, the Parks Department provides a diverse, high-quality recreation experience that is self-supporting and exceeds the needs and expectations of its customers.

The Ventura County Parks Department will continually pursue an improved quality of life for the citizens of Ventura County and other visitors by way of the quality of our facilities and services, while protecting the natural resources and beauty of our parks and historical areas.
