Join us for a talk, book signing, and reception for I Am a Portrait: Flash Fiction and Other Short Stories by Mary Tonetti Dorra.

In her newest book, a collection of short stories, Dorra has amassed a group of characters based in part on her own real friends and relatives who interact with those which are purely fictional. Some of the stories are told from the point of view of the works of art themselves and are based on pieces that have been in the Dorra collection over the years.

Mary Tonetti Dorra enthralls us with her lifetime of adventure and love of art having lived in Italy, France, and Santa Barbara for over 40 years. She has written travel articles for Gourmet Magazine, The New York Times, and many others. Her previous books are Beautiful American Vegetable Gardens, Beautiful American Rose Gardens, Demeter’s Choice: A Portrait of My Grandmother as a Young Artist, and Two Lives on Four Continents – A Double Memoir.

I Am a Portrait is her latest endeavor and will be released the first week of December 2024. Books will be available for purchase in store and online before, during, and after the event.
