The Oxnard Public Library is providing free income tax preparation assistance to income filers from 1 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday and Thursday through April 12 at the Main Downtown Library, Meeting Room B, 251 So. A St., Oxnard, the City of Oxnard reported on its website: www.oxnardnews.org
IRS-trained volunteers from the Association of the Advancement of Retired Persons (AARP) will provide the assistance. Reservations and being an AARP member is not required. Participants should bring their social security card, picture ID, copy of 2010 tax return (if available), and all 2011 documents showing income such as wages, social security interest, dividends, investments, self-employment income, pensions, etc.
Home foreclosures and mortgage cancellations (1099-A, 1099-C) are not eligible for this service, so please consult a professional tax preparer.
