The Mexican Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Public Education invite educative authorities from Mexico and the United States to nominate candidates for the “Teacher Exchange Program Mexico-United States 2011,” the Mexican Consulate in Oxnard reported this week in a media release.
GUIDELINES
1. About the activities that the Exchange Teachers will perform:
Mexicans
- The chosen teachers will work with student groups of preschool, elementary, middle and even high school at the School Districts that participate in this program.
- In the classrooms Exchange Teachers will serve Mexican and Mexican origin children, Hispanic and other origins due to the cultural diversity of the United States.
- They will prepare a joint working plan with the school district authorities.
- They will also elaborate an activity inform from their work during the exchange, including suggestions and comments that they consider useful, delivering a copy to the PROBEM coordinator in their State.
The Exchange Teachers are also expected to:
- Work on promoting the Mexican culture and traditions amongst Hispanic origin communities.
- Conduct workshops on Mexican history and culture, reading and writing and the Mexican Education System to teachers and parents.
- Counsel the elaboration and use of didactic materials, as well as study program contents to improve the educational efforts aimed to the Mexican Origin children and juveniles living in the USA.
- Develop joint working efforts with American authorities and teachers on the Educational systems of both countries.

Convacatoria del programa de intercambio de maestros Méxuci0-Estados Unidos 2011
La Secretaría de Educación Pública y la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores de México convocan a las autoridades educativas de México y de Estados Unidos para que presenten candidaturas para participar en el “Programa de Intercambio de Maestros México-Estados Unidos 2011” que se sujetará a las siguientes
BASES
1. De la actividad de los Maestros de Intercambio:
Mexicanos
- Los seleccionados trabajarán frente a grupo en escuelas de niveles preescolar, primaria, secundaria y hasta preparatoria de los Distritos Escolares que participen en esta convocatoria.
- En las aulas, los maestros visitantes atenderán a niños mexicanos y de origen mexicano, hispanos y de otros orígenes debido a la diversidad cultural de la Unión Americana.
- Deberán elaborar un plan de trabajo de común acuerdo con el Distrito Escolar al que asistan.
- También elaborarán un informe de las actividades que realizaron durante su intercambio, incluyendo sugerencias y aportaciones que consideren pertinentes, entregando una copia a los coordinadores de PROBEM en su Estado.
Además, se espera que los maestros de intercambio:
- trabajen especialmente sobre la difusión y muestra de la cultura y tradiciones mexicanas, con las comunidades de origen hispano.
- impartan talleres para maestros sobre historia y cultura mexicana, enseñanza de la lecto-escritura, del sistema educativo mexicano y para padres de familia.
- asesoren en la elaboración y uso de materiales didácticos, así como en contenidos curriculares para mejorar los programas de atención a los niños y jóvenes mexicanos en Estados Unidos.
- Desarrollen un trabajo colegiado con autoridades y maestros estadounidenses sobre los sistemas educativos mexicano y norteamericano.
