ABOUT THE MUSEUM:
The Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum, a 501c3 nonprofit history and education organization, is dedicated to honoring and remembering veterans, with emphasis on those from the Central Coast of California. The Veterans Museum offers free history education programs and events for our region including: exhibit talks, history presentations, speaker series (authors, historians, veterans), group and school tours, travelling history exhibits, and Cal Poly history and archives internship program. The Veterans Museum is also a gathering place for veterans, their families and the public each year on Veterans Day and Memorial Day for ceremonies and community celebrations.

The Veterans Museum’s collections are preserved in archives and an armory, containing historic artifacts, photos, uniforms, helmets, weapons, documents, patches and medals from WWI to modern day conflicts, with permanent exhibits and rotating special exhibits on display. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10am – 3pm  for the public to explore, learn, and remember the experiences and sacrifices of the men and women who have served. Located in the lower level of the Veterans Memorial Building at 801 Grand Avenue, Suite 102, with entrance doors at the rear of the brick building.

The Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum is honored to be the designated site in our region for a nationwide Veterans History Project, through a 21-year partnership with the U.S. Library of Congress to preserve the stories of our American veterans by recording their oral histories and preserving their personal artifacts.

The Veterans Museum is honored to display the original uniform and medals from General Hoyt S. Vandenburg, the second chief of staff in the U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., and namesake of the now Vandenburg Space Force Base.

In 2022, we became the only museum in California to receive the great honor of displaying a small piece of the superstructure from the historic USS Arizona, a National Memorial in Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Hawaii.

***The Veterans Museum is still seeking sponsors at various levels to partner with us on this event (Gold, Silver, Bronze) for the STARS AND STRIPES CELEBRATION DINNER.
