2023 International Trade Educator of the Year

NASBITE International grants the International Trade Educator of the Year Award to recognize exceptional contributions to international trade instruction, research, curriculum development, program development, and advocacy of international business issues.

Dr. Ray Bowman received this honor at the recent NASBITE Annual Conference due to his extensive educational background and dedication to helping and teaching others. His expertise includes a Doctorate in Business Administration, a master’s degree in business and an undergraduate degree in business and international trade. He also holds certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Global Business Professional (CGBP) and NASBITE CGBP trainer. Dr. Bowman’s passion for teaching and sharing knowledge shines through in his roles as our EDC Small Business Development Center Director and as an international business, entrepreneurship and operations management instructor at Babson College, California State University Channel Islands and Emlyon business school in France.

Our EDC SBDC Trade Specialists Simona Racek and Siddhi Khara also attended the conference. Simona presented a session on the state of digital trade. She discussed the digital standard initiative collaboration project between our Global Department and the San Diego and Imperial District Export Council. Siddhi supported the organization of a session titled “Programs v. Needs in Export Assistance.”
