OXNARD — The Channel Islands Maritime Museum (CIMM) is pleased to announce a US Coast Guard Live Rescue Demonstration on Friday, January 7 at 2:00 pm. The Coast Guard Demonstration will take place on the water in Channel Islands Harbor directly in front of the Maritime Museum which is located at 3900 BlueFin Circle. This outdoor event is free and open to the public. Visitors may also watch the demonstration from the two inside floors of the Museum. However, the purchase of Museum admission is required for those who would like to view the demonstration from inside of the Museum. (Masks are required for those visitors who wish to view the event from inside the Museum).
This Coast Guard event is being held as part of the celebration of “Coast Guard Art” a new temporary exhibition that begins on January 4th at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum. This show features a wide variety of artworks that beautifully and, sometimes, very dramatically, illustrate the lives of the men and women of the US Coast Guard and the incredible work that they do on behalf of the country they serve.

About Channel Islands Maritime Museum: Founded in 1991 and located in Oxnard’s Channel Islands Harbor, the Museum’s galleries feature rare and beautiful maritime paintings dating back to the 1600’s, more than sixty world-class models of historic ships, rotating thematic fine arts exhibitions, and interactive exhibits that encourage visitors to expand their horizons about all things maritime. The Museum is open to the public Thursday through Monday, 12 pm until 4 pm.
