Cumbia de mi corazón, escrita por Toby Campion y dirigida por Robert Sánchez, ofrece una mirada íntima y valiente al mundo del más allá. Heriberto, un pescador de 80 años, aunque no esta condenado al castigo, se ha privado del cielo por amor, esperando pacientemente en el purgatorio hasta que se reencuentre con su amada esposa, Maruca. El día de su muerte, tres ángeles novicios intentan ayudar, pero acosada por la enfermedad de Alzheimer, ella no lo reconoce. Heriberto, con la ayuda de los ángeles Rafa, Uri, Gabi y La Angelita, debe intentar despertar su memoria utilizando la música de la cumbia, la música que escucharon durante su noviazgo en Santa Marta, Colombia en la década de 1950. Protagonizada por Albert Smith como Heriberto, Concepción Villarreal como Maruca, Adriana Castro como El Supervisor, Ingrid Castro como Gabi, Francisco Ferreyra como Rafa, Magaly Ramos como Uri, y Margarita Morán como La Angelita.

Cumbia de mi corazón, written by Toby Campion and directed by Robert Sánchez, offers an unflinching, intimate glimpse into the world of the beyond. Heriberto, an 80-year-old fisherman, although not condemned to punishment, has deprived himself of heaven for love, patiently waiting in purgatory until he reunites with his beloved wife, Maruca. On the day of her death, three novice angels attempt to help, but plagued with Alzheimer’s, she does not recognize him. Heriberto, with the help of the angels, Rafa, Uri, Gabi and La Angelita, must try to awaken her memory by using the music of cumbia, the music they listened to during their courtship in Santa Marta, Colombia in the 1950’s. Starring Albert Smith as Heriberto, Concepción Villarreal as Maruca, Adriana Castro as El Supervisor, Ingrid Castro as Gabi, Francisco Ferreyra as Rafa, Magaly Ramos as Uri, and Margarita Moran as La Angelita.
