The Social Justice Fund for Ventura County reports that Aug. 31 is the deadline for community members to donate $25 each to match a $5,000 grant-making challenge from Meenal and Kris Kelkar.
“We need 100 people to donate $25. Step up for social justice in Ventura County. It’s easy to make a difference,” fund organizers reported.
Twenty individuals have already donated to the grant-making challenge.
The fun has supported such organizations as Arts for Action, the One Step Adelante program of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County Inc., El Centrito Family Learning Centers and Organizacion en California de Líderes Campesinas.
Checks can be sent to Social Justice Fund, c/o Ventura County Community Foundation, 1317 Del Norte Road, No. 150, Camarillo, CA 93010.
