Frank P. Barajas is a professor and chair of history at California State University Channel Islands and author of Mexican Americans with Moxie: A Transgenerational History of El Movimiento Chicano in Ventura County, California, 1945-1975. Born and raised in the City of Oxnard, he attended its public schools and obtained degrees at Moorpark College; California State University, Fresno; and the Claremont Graduate University. He is also the author of Curious Unions: Mexican American Workers and Resistance in Oxnard, California, 1898-1961 (2012).
In addition to his academic work, Professor Barajas has published op-eds in The History News Network, The History News Service, The Bakersfield Californian, Perspectives on History, and the Ventura County Star.
