Gatherings prohibited to prevent the spread of COVID-19
VENTURA — Ventura County beaches will be closed this holiday weekend from 5:00 a.m. on July 3 through July 6 at 5 a.m. to prevent crowding that results in the spread of COVID-19. To support this effort parking lots and restrooms will also be closed.
“COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to increase in Ventura County and throughout the State. It’s important thatpeople do not gather to prevent further spread,” said Public Health Officer Doctor Robert Levin.
The Fourth of July weekend is often a time of gathering. Usually, community members enjoy the summer holiday with backyard barbecues, fireworks and water activities. But this year, celebrating the holiday will be different due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Gatherings are prohibited in the State. Fireworks shows have been canceled throughout Ventura County to prevent gatherings.
“Visiting family and friends still presents a risk of spreading COVID-19. We know people are eager to go out, but we need to remind you on the importance of being safe and protecting yourself and others. Please only gather with the people that you live with. Your actions can help save lives,” said Public Health Director Rigo Vargas.
Please take the following precautions:
- Continue to social distance by staying 6 feet away from others, especially if you are at high risk for serious illness from COVID-19 (over age 65 or any age with underlying medical conditions).
- Continue to wear cloth face coverings in public.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.

Las playas del Condado de Ventura estarán cerradas el fin de semana del 4 de julio
Reuniones están prohibidas para prevenir la propagación del COVID-19
VENTURA – – Las playas del Condado de Ventura estarán cerradas este fin de semana feriado desde las 5:00 a.m. del 3 de julio hasta las 5 a.m. del 6 de julio para evitar las aglomeraciones de personas que provoquen la propagación del COVID-19. Para apoyar este esfuerzo, los estacionamientos y baños también estarán cerrados.
“Los casos del COVID-19 continúan aumentando en el condado de Ventura y en todo el estado. Es importante que las personas no se reúnan para evitar una mayor propagación”, dijo el Doctor Robert Levin, Oficial de Salud Pública.
El fin de semana del 4 de julio suele ser un momento de reuniónes. Por lo general, los miembros de la comunidad disfrutan de las vacaciones de verano con asadas en el patio, fuegos artificiales y actividades acuáticas. Pero este año, celebrar será diferente debido a la pandemia del COVID-19 en curso. Las reuniones están prohibidas en el estado. Los espectáculos de fuegos artificiales se han cancelado en todo el condado de Ventura para evitar reuniones.
“Visitar a familiares y amigos aún presenta el riesgo de propagar el COVID-19. Sabemos que las personas están ansiosas por salir, pero debemos recordarles de la importancia de estar a salvo y protegerse a sí mismo y a los demás. Solo reúnase con las personas con las que vive. Sus acciones pueden ayudar a salvar vidas”, dijo el Director de Salud Pública, Rigo Vargas.
Por favor tome las siguientes precauciones:
- Continúe manteniendo la distancia social, guardando 6 pies (2 metros) de distancia de los demás, especialmente si tiene un alto riesgo de contraer una enfermedad grave por el COVID-19 (las personas mayores de 65 años o de cualquier edad con padecimientos).
- Continúe usando cubiertas faciales de tela cuando esté en lugares públicos.
- Limpie y desinfecte las superficies que se tocan frecuentemente cada día.
- Quédese en casa si está enfermo.
