Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley (BGCGCV) Launches a $3 Million Fundraising Drive Now through the End of the Year

AGOURA — In light of the COVID-19 Outbreak and to face the challenge head on, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley (BGCGCV) is launching Part I of a $3 million fundraising campaign, “Rising Stronger Together” to ensure that the community and families have the resources and support they need during these trying times.

Part I, “$1 Million for NOW” has begun to rally the community to donate whatever they can to sustain the effort and mission of the BGCGCV.  Reaching the $1 million mark will help the BGCGCV maintain daily meal service, member academic support, and extended care for K-8 youth who parents are essential workers.

The fundraising campaign will continue the duration of the year with Part II, “$1 Million for Recovery,” followed by the final push, “1 Million to Secure the Future.”

Many families consider the BGCGCV as a second home and invaluable source they so desperately need. “Having the clubs remain open means that my husband and I can both continue working in the essential roles to our business,” stated Michelle McMahon, a BGCGCV parent.  “With one of our sons needing specialized support at school, it’s so important for him to be able to continue to participate in meaningful activities,” continued McMahon.  “I like other mothers of children at this critical developmental age, worry about the lasting impact of a complete shutdown on my boy’s social, emotional and physical health.  I am so grateful for the commitment of the Boys & Girls Clubs to continue to provide a source of joy and comfort when we need it the most,” she added.

The community is encouraged to join the BGCGCV in the fundraising drive and donate as little as $5 up to maintain the needed services to serve the local youth.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley serves more than 4,000 registered members and nearly 1,000 each day throughout the school year.
