Public hearing set June 15 on Edison’s proposed $3.6 billion rate increase

The community is asked to voice its opposition to a proposed $3.6 billion rate increase by Southern California Edison at a California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) hearing from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 at the Oxnard City Hall Council Chambers, 305 W. Third St., Oxnard, reports Adriana Mendoza, associate state director for AARP California.

“We need your help getting people to attend the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) hearings in Oxnard on Wednesday, June 15th,” Mendoza stated in a media release. “The CPUC wants public comment on the Southern California Edison $ 3.6 Billion rate increase request.  We need you to let the CPUC know how higher electric bills will affect our families, businesses and community…Join AARP and come to a CPUC Public Meeting!”

At the hearing, consumer can let the CPUC know how higher electric bills will affect your family, your business, and your community, according to the release by TURN — The Utility Reform Network.
