CENTRAL COAST — Applications are now available for Sierra Madre Cottages,
Peoples’ Self-Help Housing’s (PSHH) newest affordable housing for seniors in Santa Maria, CA. Primary applicants must be 62 years or older and have good credit and rental history. A lottery will be held to determined order of application processing.
Applications are available from a dropbox outside the office of Mariposa Townhomes, located at 290 Parkview South in Orcutt, CA; by email at
smc@pshhc.org, or online at
www.pshhc.org. You can also receive a mailed application by calling (805) 318-7828. Questions regarding the application process or the future housing can be emailed to
smc@pshhc.org or made by phone to (805) 318-7828. Applications must be received by Friday, April 17 to be eligible for the lottery; those received after that date will be placed on a waiting list.
Sierra Madre Cottages, 40 rental units located at 665 Sierra Madre Avenue, Santa Maria offers a community center and garden and is conveniently located near transportation, neighborhood services, and recreational opportunities. The development includes energy saving features such as increased insulation, tankless water heaters, and higher HVAC efficiency.
Funding partners for Sierra Madre Cottages include the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the City of Santa Maria, the County of Santa Barbara, the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, Montecito Bank & Trust, Bank of America, Enterprise Community Partners, California Community Reinvestment Corp. and the Housing Trust Fund of Santa Barbara County.
