During my morning run, I often come across sign boards outside of businesses with pithy quotes that are meant to get us thinking and possibly inspiring us to “inquire within” and start a conversation with one of the staff. I’ve seen these signs outside of restaurants, salons, gyms and yoga studios.
One sign in particular got my attention recently (though not quite enough to draw me inside—yet). It stated, “Hold the vision, trust the process.” I thought that was worth at least one day of meditation.
“Hold the vision” could encourage us to visualize a goal or our mission in life and to maintain this image in our minds relentlessly, never yielding to discouragement or detours that might divert us from our “holy grail.”
But for me, the latter part of the quote was most meaningful. “Trust the process” is an act of faith. We “trust the process” when we are injured or sick because we know in our hearts that our bodies are wise and harmonize with nature. We have faith that we will eventually be healed. We “trust” when we pray—at least enough to assume that whatever happens is the best possible outcome in the long run, though it may not necessarily seem so in the moment. We “trust” when we convince ourselves that confiding in someone who is special to us will help us through a dilemma or conflict.
Ultimately, “trusting the process” means we hand our fate over to a “higher power,” however we define that. Some of us believe in a power outside of ourselves, whereas others trust the power that we believe resides within each of us and that manifests itself through us and all of nature.
However we “trust the process,” it is a vital part of living successfully and in resonance with the invisible forces that guide us toward our highest good.

Confiando en el Proceso

Durante mis corridas matutinas, a menudo me encuentro con carteles de anuncios fuera de las empresas con citas concisas que tienen el propósito de hacernos pensar y posiblemente inspirarnos a “entrar por las puertas” y comenzar una conversación con uno de los miembros del personal. He visto esta clase de anuncios fuera de restaurantes, salones, gimnasios y estudios de yoga.
Un letrero en particular me llamó la atención recientemente (aunque todavía no lo suficiente como para empujarme adentro). Decía: “Mantenga la imagen, confíe en el proceso”. Pensé que eso valía al menos un día de meditación.
“Mantener la imagen” podría alentarnos a visualizar una meta o nuestra misión en la vida y mantener esta imagen en nuestras mentes sin descanso, sin ceder nunca al desánimo o las distracciones que podrían desviarnos de nuestro “santo grial”.
Pero para mí, la última parte de la cita fue muy significativa. “Confiar en el proceso” es un acto de fe. “Confiamos en el proceso” cuando estamos heridos o enfermos porque sabemos en nuestros corazones que nuestros cuerpos son sabios y armonizan con la naturaleza. Tenemos fe en que eventualmente seremos sanados. Confiamos cuando oramos, al menos lo suficiente como para asumir que, pase lo que pase, tendremos el mejor resultado posible a largo plazo, aunque no necesariamente lo parezca en el momento. Confiamos cuando nos convencemos de que confiar en alguien que es especial para nosotros nos ayudará a superar un dilema o conflicto.
En última instancia, “confiar en el proceso” significa que entregamos nuestro destino a un “poder superior”, tal y como lo definamos. Algunos de nosotros creemos en un poder fuera de nosotros mismos, mientras que otros confían en el poder que creemos que reside en cada uno de nosotros y que se manifiesta a través de cada quien y de toda la naturaleza.
Sea la que sea la forma en que confiamos en el proceso, es una parte vital de vivir con éxito y en resonancia con las fuerzas invisibles que nos guían hacia nuestro mayor bien.
