Aug. 30 — Cola Boyy Curates a Night of Music, Art and Community

A FUNDRAISER FOR THE OXNARD PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

OXNARD — Oxnard native Matthew Urango, better known by his stage name Cola Boyy, is curating a night of music and art to support The Oxnard Performing Arts Center on Friday, August 30 from 7 to 11 pm. The fundraiser will take place in the Center’s Oxnard Ballroom and features rapper Omega Nova, punk rockers Civil Conflict, and DJ Xilla spinning a fusion of cumbia, funk and disco. Packed with local vendors and art displays, all ages are welcome. The event is free, but donations are encouraged and will go towards supporting The PACC’s educational and community programming efforts. There will also be a beer garden for ages 21 and over.

Fresh off this year’s Coachella stage, Cola Boyy is beloved for his deviant disco that blends rock, soul, funk, and the spirit of punk with Latino grooves. He is signed to French label, Record Makers, that released his EP, Black Boogie Neon, a collection of dreamy, tender disco pop songs in 2017. The music video for “Penny Girl” pays homage to Oxnard and its people.
