Join us at the Museum of Ventura County on July 26, 2019 @ 6:30 p.m. for a Book Talk & Signing with Ivor Davis. Admission is $5 for Museum members, $10 for nonmembers. Ivor Davis will be discussing his latest book, “Manson Exposed: A Reporter’s 50-Year Journey into Madness and Murder.” Tickets can be pre-purchased here!
The notorious Manson Murders paralyzed Hollywood and most of America in August 1969. However, few at the time of the grisly discoveries had heard of Manson, his family/gang of demented followers, and none believed they were involved. Fingers were pointed at many Hollywood A-listers, but none at the unkempt tramps living in squalor in surrounding L.A. County.
Join us for the opening reception of Love, What’s It To Ya’ on July 13, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Museum galleries and courtyard. Admission is Free for Museum members, $5 for nonmembers.

Actual Reality, a new exhibit created by local artists Carlos Grasso and Peter Fox, examines the present day disconnect between virtual and actual reality.
In the Fields of the North / En los Campos del Norte
This new exhibit at the Agriculture Museum features the photojournalist David Bacon’s evocative, powerful photographs alongside moving oral narratives from migrant farm workers.
This exhibit will showcase the breadth and diversity of the Ojai and Ventura Music Festivals, both of which are celebrating their 73rd and 25th years, respectively.
Farming Youth is a new pop-up exhibit at the Agriculture Museum featuring the artwork of Lino Martinez that focuses on the migratory realities of the farm workers whose labor sustains the United States’ agricultural economy.
This collection of figures represents key personalities from Chinese history. From the Manchus who crossed the Great Wall and formed the Qing Dynasty, to the Nationalists and Communists who came after them and founded modern China.
Love, What’s It To Ya’: Bronze Sculptures by Lynn Creighton
OPENS JULY 5, 2019! Lynn Creighton is a sculptor creating bronze female figures of women experiencing the full vibratory rate of their inner core. They are metaphors for women awakening to the gift of their own energy and what it is meant to do.
This extraordinary exhibition displays boxes created by women throughout the world from Women Beyond Borders touring collection, along with historical information and video history of the Women Without Borders journey.
Throwing Shade provides a simple, focused examination of the coast live oak tree and its woodland community of plants and animals. Discover how the oak survives wildfire, drought (hot and dry periods), and how it reproduces.
This exhibit, Patterns on the Land, showcases faithful reproductions of rare maps from the Museum’s Research Library and Archives collection, and is on display in the City of Ventura’s Planning office, Room 117 in Ventura’s City Hall.
Founding Familias: The Ojai Valley During the Rancho Era is view through July 21, 2019 at the Ojai Valley Museum. This exhibition looks at the Rancho era through the Hispanic families who settled the Ojai Valley. Tico, Ayala, Lopez, Arnaz, Vanegas, Reyes, Ortega, their stories have too often been overlooked. Vaquero life is also examined, including Joe Lopez. The award-winning cowboy is a link between ranching then and today.
In addition, semi-permanent exhibits highlight the evolution of the valley. Learn about the Chumash culture, artists, local businesses and more. We also have a large sculpture in our front courtyard plus a mosaic and Chumash garden behind the museum. We’re the perfect place to start, or expand, your knowledge of the valley.
