OXNARD — The Oxnard Public Library welcomes back the LA Opera with another “Opera Talk,” on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Downtown Main branch. Facilitated by one of their volunteer “Community Educators,” the hour-long presentation will be a historical overview of the musical form, from its inception to the modern-day. This talk serves as a good introduction to the art form for those who are new to Opera, and who might be interested in learning more about this old and cherished art form. The community educator for this talk will be Mary Johnston, who presented the Opera Talk preview of La Traviata last month. She will go into detail on every major era of Opera with an engaging presentation supplemented by PowerPoint visual aids. Refreshments will also be provided. The talk will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 3 p.m. Downtown Main Library: 251 S. A. Street, Oxnard CA, 93030, in Meeting Room B.
